YOUR DATA, PLAINLY.
No dark patterns, no 4,000 words of boilerplate. Here is exactly what this website collects, why we need it, and who else ever sees it.
LAST UPDATED 5 AUGUST 2026
The short version
- We collect what you type into our forms — and, for an airspace check, the property address. That's it.
- We use it to answer you and to do the job. We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it. Ever.
- We don't run advertising trackers, and we set no marketing cookies of our own.
- The “Ask Aero” chat sends what you type to an AI provider to generate a reply. Don't put anything sensitive in it.
- Want your data gone? Email hello@aerolux.us and we'll delete it.
The rest of this page is the detail behind those five points. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
1. Who this is about
AeroLux Media (“we”, “us”) is an aerial photography and videography studio operating on Long Island, New York. This policy covers aerolux.media and the enquiry forms on it. Questions go to hello@aerolux.us or (516) 554-0487.
2. What we collect
What you choose to send us
Only what a form actually asks for. Across the site that is:
- Everywhere: your name, email address and (optionally) phone number, plus whatever you write in the message box.
- Booking enquiries: the service and package you're interested in, the shoot location, and your preferred date and time window.
- Airspace checks: the property address you want checked, an optional target date, and what the shoot is for.
- Preferred Agent applications: your brokerage or team, roughly how many listings you handle a year, your typical price band, and the areas you work.
- Crew applications: the role you want, whether you hold an FAA Part 107 certificate, the area you're based in, and a link to your portfolio.
Give us a property address and we can obviously infer where a property is. We treat addresses as we would any other client detail: used for the job, shared with nobody.
What is collected automatically
- Server logs. Our host records standard request data — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps — as any web server does. We use it for security and diagnosing faults.
- Analytics. If Google Analytics is active on the site, it records anonymised, aggregate visit data (which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are, what device they use). We have IP anonymisation switched on. We use it to understand which parts of the site are useful, not to identify individuals.
What we deliberately do not collect
- No payment card details are ever entered on this website.
- There are no user accounts, so no passwords.
- No advertising or cross-site tracking pixels — no Meta pixel, no ad retargeting.
- We don't buy contact lists or enrich your details from data brokers.
3. Why we use it
To reply to your enquiry, quote and schedule work, run the airspace and permission checks a shoot needs, deliver finished media, invoice you, assess a job application, and keep records of work we've done. That's the full list. We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked a question — if we ever start a newsletter, it will be something you opt into deliberately.
4. Who else touches your data
We keep the number of third parties deliberately small. Each one is a service provider acting on our instructions, not a party we sell data to.
| Service | What it handles | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify | Hosts the website and stores form submissions | Everything you submit, plus standard server logs |
| Anthropic | Powers the “Ask Aero” chat assistant | The messages you type into the chat |
| Fonts, the embedded map, and analytics if enabled | Your IP address and general usage data | |
| Resend | Delivers enquiry emails to our inbox (may not be active) | The contents of your enquiry |
| Google Workspace | Our email — where your enquiry lands and is replied to | Your enquiry and any correspondence |
Beyond these, we will only hand over personal data if the law requires it. We do not and will not sell your personal information.
5. The “Ask Aero” chat assistant
This one deserves its own section, because it isn't obvious.
Aero is an AI assistant. When you type a message, that message — and the conversation so far — is sent to Anthropic, an AI provider, which generates the reply. It is processed on their infrastructure, subject to their terms.
We do not store chat transcripts ourselves, and the assistant has no access to your booking records, our inbox, or anything else about you. It only knows publicly available information about our services.
Please don't type anything sensitive into it. It's built to answer questions about pricing, coverage and booking. For anything private, email or call us instead.
6. What's stored in your browser
We use no tracking cookies of our own. The site does keep four small values in your browser's local storage, all purely functional:
| Name | What it's for | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
alx_anno_off | Remembers you dismissed the announcement bar | Until you clear it |
alx_intro_seen | Stops the opening animation replaying as you browse | Until you close the tab |
alx_last_enquiry | Keeps a local copy of an enquiry you were typing, so a failed send doesn't lose your words. It stays on your device. | Until you clear it |
alx-nudged | Stops the chat assistant prompting you twice in one visit | Until you close the tab |
None of these identify you or follow you to other websites. Clearing your browser data removes them, and the site works fine without them.
If Google Analytics is active it sets its own cookies. You can opt out entirely with Google's browser add-on, or by using your browser's Do Not Track setting.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become bookings: kept while there's a live conversation, then deleted on request.
- Client records: kept as long as needed for the work and for tax and accounting records afterwards, as New York and federal law require.
- Crew applications: kept for up to a year in case a suitable role opens, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
- Server and analytics data: kept on the standard retention schedules of the providers above.
8. Your choices
Email hello@aerolux.us and you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you,
- correct anything that's wrong,
- delete it,
- or stop contacting you.
We'll action it within a reasonable time and we won't make you justify the request. Depending on where you live you may have formal rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act; we'll honour those requests regardless of whether that law technically applies to a business our size.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, submissions travel encrypted, and access to our inbox and form dashboard is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure and we won't pretend otherwise — but we hold very little, we hold it briefly, and we never hold payment details.
10. Children
This site is aimed at people booking professional services and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we'll delete it.
11. Changes
If this policy changes we'll update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be called out clearly rather than quietly slipped in.
